Integrating Scanova's Analytics with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) can enhance the insights users gain from the QR Code campaigns. How to get Scanova analytics data in Google Analytics
To set up Google Analytics, follow these steps:
- Login to the Scanova account
- Click the Analytics tab on the dashboard
- Click on Integrations and then click on Setup under Google Analytics
- To activate Google Analytics for the account, add Google Analytics Tracking ID and API secret, click on Save
- View the Scanova Analytics in the Home tab of Google Analytics as per the property specified
Note: Google is removing support for the universal tracking ID from July 1, 2023, onwards and migrating to Google Analytics version 4 (GA4).
You can now set up a GA4 measurement ID to track scans in your Google Analytics dashboard.
We will continue supporting Universal Analytics ID (UA) till June 30, 2023.
Existing UA IDs will continue receiving scan tracking as earlier.
How to find my Google Analytics 4 measurement ID and create a measurement protocol API secret
Google Analytics 4 measurement ID allows Google to understand to which property a tracking code belongs. If you are using Google Tag Manager to install GA4, you have to enter the measurement ID there.
Steps to find the Measurement ID
- Login to Google Analytics 4 property
- Click the gear icon in the bottom left corner of the Google Analytics 4 interface
- Then in the property column, click Data Streams
- Select a web data stream
- A new window will appear, and at the top-right column, see an ID that starts with G-
- This is the GA4 measurement ID. Copy the entire ID and paste it as per the requirement
Steps to create a measurement protocol API secret:
- Go to Google Analytics Admin > Data Streams and open the chosen stream
- Scroll down to the Additional Settings tab and click on Measurement Protocol API secrets; then click Create
- Create a nickname for the new API secret
