When the subscription to Scanova QR Code Generator expires, Dynamic QR Codes and access to advanced features are affected. This article details what happens upon expiry, how to renew, and what actions can be taken regarding subscription and account management.
A. Expiration and Retention of Dynamic QR Codes
-
Dynamic QR Codes Deactivation:
- After your free trial or paid subscription ends, Dynamic QR Codes are automatically deactivated and will stop functioning. These QR Codes require an active subscription to work, unlike Static QR Codes that remain functional without a subscription.
-
Data Retention:
- Dynamic QR Codes and their associated data are retained for 26 months from the date of deactivation. During this time, you can reactivate them by renewing your subscription.
-
Permanent Deletion:
- If a subscription isn’t renewed within 26 months, all data including Dynamic QR Codes, will be permanently deleted to ensure data privacy.
B. Reactivating Expired QR Codes
To reactivate expired Dynamic QR Codes, follow these steps:
- Log in to your Scanova account.
- Navigate to Subscription > Plans.
- Choose the desired plan and proceed to payment.
- Once reactivated, your QR Codes will be restored and become operational again.
If you're unsure which account was used to create a Dynamic QR Code, use the Notify Owner feature seen upon scanning the expired QR Code. This will send an email to the registered email ID.
C. Subscription Downgrades and Refund Adjustments
-
Downgrading Plans:
- When downgrading a plan (e.g., from Pro to Lite), any unused subscription credits are applied to the new plan. For instance, if you’ve paid for a year and used only 6 months, the remaining credit will extend the validity of your new plan.
-
Upgrading Plans:
- If upgrading, the remaining credits from the previous plan can be applied in two ways:
- A discount coupon equal to the remaining credit can be applied to the new plan.
- The new subscription’s validity can be extended by the equivalent remaining credit.
- If upgrading, the remaining credits from the previous plan can be applied in two ways:
Refunds are not issued when downgrading or upgrading plans.
D. Adding Features or QR Codes Post Expiry
If you need more QR Codes or features after expiry, consider upgrading to a higher plan:
- Basic Plan: Up to 3 QR Codes.
- Lite Plan: Up to 5 QR Codes
- Standard Plan: Up to 25 QR Codes.
- Pro Plan: Up to 250 QR Codes.
For more than 500 QR Codes, the Enterprise Plan offers custom solutions based on specific requirements like bulk QR Code creation, custom domains, shared users, and enhanced security features.
E. Limitations in Basic Plans
Users subscribed to the Basic(30 days), Lite, or Ultra-Lite plans only have access to basic analytics (total scans by time). To access detailed analytics, users must upgrade to the Standard or Pro plans. Detailed analytics include device type, location, browser, and GPS data.
F. Canceling Auto-Renewal for Subscriptions
If you no longer need a subscription, the auto-renewal feature can be canceled:
- Log in to your Scanova account.
- Go to Subscription > Cancel Auto-Renewal.
- Confirm by entering your password.
Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active until the end of the billing cycle.
G. Support for Account Transfers
Scanova allows transferring QR Codes between accounts upon request. This requires sending an email to the Scanova support team with:
- The source and destination email addresses (from which the QR Codes need to be transferred)
- The list of QR Codes to be transferred
H. Custom Analytics and Data Privacy
For users on the Enterprise Plan, Scanova offers the ability to limit data tracking in compliance with organizational privacy policies. Data like GPS location or IP address can be restricted upon request by contacting support. This feature is especially beneficial for companies with strict data privacy regulations.
