Migrate Custom Domains to scnv.app
This article provides a guide on how to migrate existing custom domains from scnv.io to scnv.app. This change is necessary for continued security and performance enhancements.
Introduction
For security and performance reasons, Scanova has updated its custom domain configuration, changing the domain from Scnv.io to Scnv.app. This update will automatically apply to any new custom domains you set up going forward. However, if you have existing custom domains set to Scnv.io, you need to migrate them to Scnv.app by January 31, 2024, to ensure that the QR Codes linked to these domains continue to work.
A. Why Migrate Custom Domains
Migrating your custom domains is essential to avoid disruptions. QR Codes linked to old scnv.io
custom domains will stop functioning if not updated to Scnv.app by the deadline. This change ensures continued security and improved performance for your QR Code operations.
B. Steps to Migrate Existing Custom Domains
To update your existing custom domains, follow the steps below:
-
Log in to your service provider's website.
-
Access DNS Settings:
- Navigate to the DNS settings section where your custom domain is configured.
-
Update CNAME Record:
- Locate the CNAME record associated with your custom domain.
- Change the value of the target or content field from Scnv.io to Scnv.app.
-
Save Changes:
- Ensure that all changes are saved.
That’s it! Your existing custom domain is now successfully migrated to Scnv.app.
C. Additional Information
- CNAME Change Only: This migration only requires you to change the CNAME pointing from Scnv.io to Scnv.app. Your custom domain(s) will continue to work as usual for both previously created QR Codes and any new QR Codes.
- Impact on Non-Custom Domains: QR Codes created without custom domains will continue to use Scnv.io and do not require any changes.
