This article helps configure and track UTM parameters in Website URL QR Codes for campaign analytics using Scanova QR Code Generator.
A. Introduction
UTM parameters can now be added while creating a Website URL QR Code in Scanova. This allows for improved campaign tracking and analytics across different marketing channels.
5 standard UTM parameters and up to 5 custom parameters can be included. These parameters are also available in scan data and analytics reports for individual and aggregate-level tracking.
B. About UTM parameters
UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) parameters are tags added to a URL to identify traffic sources and campaign details in analytics tools. The 5 standard UTM parameters available are:
- utm_campaign
- utm_medium
- utm_source
- utm_term
- utm_content
In addition to these, up to 5 custom parameters can be added as needed.

- Choose Website URL as the QR Code category
- In the Enter Content step add your required primary URL, and then click on Advanced Settings
- Open the Tracking Parameters section
- Fill in the desired standard and custom UTM parameters
- Click Save
- The specified parameters will be appended to the final URL embedded in the QR Code
-
Click Continue to proceed with generating the QR Code
D. View UTM data in Analytics reports
Once the QR Code is scanned, the included UTM parameters can be tracked in:
- Analytics section in exported report sheets (CSV/EXCEL)
- These insights assist in measuring the performance of campaigns across different sources and mediums
