When using ad tracking integrations with your QR Codes, the choice of domain has a direct impact on how cookies are stored and audiences are tracked across platforms like Meta, Google, and LinkedIn. This is especially important for brands and agencies managing multiple campaigns or clients.
By default, Scanova uses a shared root domain (scnv.io) for all QR Codes. While convenient, this setup can cause tracking overlaps and inaccurate attribution across accounts.
A. Issues with shared root domains
All dynamic QR Codes created in Scanova use the common domain scnv.io by default. If multiple users enable tracking integrations using this shared domain, it can lead to:
Shared tracking cookies between unrelated QR Codes
Cross-user audience overlap in ad platforms (e.g., Meta or Google may group scans from different users into the same audience)
Retargeting leakage across different campaigns, brands, or clients
Incorrect attribution of scans to the wrong ad account or audience
