Use the Scanova QR Codes app in Canva to generate and insert QR Codes directly into designs.
Introduction
The Scanova QR Codes app for Canva allows users to create and add QR Codes within the Canva editor. This integration helps enhance visual designs—such as flyers, brochures, and posters—with scannable QR Codes that link to websites, text, or other information. It eliminates the need to switch platforms, enabling users to create Static or Dynamic QR Codes quickly and easily.
The following sections explain how to install and use the Scanova app in Canva.
A. Install from Canva Apps Directory
The Scanova QR Codes app can be installed directly from Canva’s Apps Directory.
- Log in to a Canva account
- Click Apps from the left sidebar
- Search for Scanova QR Codes
- Select Use in new design or Open
- Grant the necessary permissions when prompted
After installation, the Scanova QR Codes app becomes accessible under the Apps section of the Canva editor. Users can open it anytime to generate QR Codes within their designs.
B. Install via Scanova Dashboard
The add-on can also be installed directly through the Scanova dashboard.
- Log in to the Scanova account
- Navigate to the Integrations section
- Locate the Canva card and select Install Add-on
- Sign in to the Canva account when prompted
- Authorize the connection to complete setup
Once the installation is complete, the Canva and Scanova accounts are linked, allowing QR Code generation directly from the Canva interface.
C. Generate and Insert QR Codes
After installation, users can create and insert QR Codes into their Canva designs.
- Open a Canva design (for example, a presentation, flyer, or poster)
- Select Apps > Scanova QR Codes
- Choose a QR Code type:
- Enter the desired content
- Select Generate QR Code
The QR Code is generated instantly and inserted into the Canva design. Users can adjust its size or position as needed.
Note: QR Codes created using the Canva app are Static QR Codes by default.
D. Enable Dynamic QR Codes
Dynamic QR Codes can be edited and tracked after creation. To enable Dynamic QR Codes:
- Open the Scanova QR Codes sidebar in Canva
- Turn on the Dynamic QR Code toggle
- Enter the content and select Generate QR Code
All QR Codes created with this setting are Dynamic and can be edited or tracked through the Scanova dashboard.
E. Manage QR Codes from Scanova Dashboard
Dynamic QR Codes generated via the Canva integration can be managed directly in the Scanova account. Users can:
- Edit destination content without changing the printed QR Code
- View scan analytics such as time, location, and device type
- Organize QR Codes using tags and campaigns
To access these QR Codes, navigate to Dashboard > My QR Codes in the Scanova account.
Once the integration is complete, users can generate and insert QR Codes directly in Canva—simplifying the process of adding scannable links to creative designs.
