Integrate using Google Ad-ons

Users can create and insert QR Codes into Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets by installing the Scanova QR Codes add-on.

Introduction

The Scanova QR Codes add-on allows users to generate and place QR Codes directly within Google Workspace tools. This integration helps avoid switching between platforms and makes it easy to enrich documents, presentations, and spreadsheets with QR Codes for links, text, or other data. You can quickly create codes for links, text, or contact details, either Dynamic or Static, without leaving your document.

The following sections explain how to install and access the add-on.

A. Install from the add-on page

The add-on can be installed directly from the add-on page.

• Users must click the button provided on the Scanova dashboard
  
  
   
• Sign in with a Google account if prompted
  
   
• Complete the installation by granting the required permissions
  
  
   

Once installed, the Scanova QR Codes add-on will be available in Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets under the Extensions menu.

B. Install manually from Google Workspace

The add-on can also be installed manually by following these steps:

1. Open Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets
   
    
2. Go to Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons
   
   
    
3. Search for Scanova QR Codes
   
   
    
4. Click Install and grant the required permissions
   
   
5. Access the add-on from Extensions > Scanova QR Codes

6. Once the add-on sidebar appears, choose the QR Code type:

    

   1. Website URL QR Code
   2. Simple Text QR Code
7. Enter the content (URL or text) you want to encode.
8. Click on Generate QR Code to create it.
9. The generated QR Code will automatically be inserted into your document.

Note: The default QR Codes generated from the add-on are Static QR Codes.

C. Enable Dynamic QR Codes

Dynamic QR Codes can be edited and tracked even after they are added to the document. To create Dynamic QR Codes using the add-on:

1. In the add-on sidebar, locate the Dynamic QR Code option.
2. Turn on the toggle to enable Dynamic QR Codes.

3. Once enabled, every QR Code generated through the add-on will be a Dynamic QR Code — editable, trackable, and linkable to analytics reports in your Scanova dashboard.
   
    

D. Manage QR Codes from Scanova Dashboard

All Dynamic QR Codes generated via the add-on can be managed directly from your Scanova account. You can:

• Edit the destination content without changing the printed QR Code
• View scan analytics such as location, device type, and time of scan
• Organize QR Codes using tags and campaigns

To access them, go to Dashboard > My QR Codes in your Scanova account.

After installation, users can start generating and inserting QR Codes without leaving the document.
