This article explains how to change the category of a Dynamic QR Code in Scanova. This is useful when a user wants to reuse the same QR Code for different content types.
In Scanova, users can change the category of any Dynamic QR Code. This allows them to replace its current content with content from another QR Code category while keeping the same QR Code image. However, once the category is changed, all previous content and settings will be removed permanently.
A. Change the category of a Dynamic QR Code
To change the category of an existing Dynamic QR Code, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Scanova account
- From the left sidebar, navigate to My QR Codes
- Locate the desired QR Code
- Click on the Name of the QR Code or the View/Edit
- In the QR Code Details page, go to the Category section
- Click the Edit icon next to the existing category
- Select a new QR Code category from the dropdown list
- A warning prompt will appear indicating that:
- All existing content will be deleted
- The QR Code will redirect to new content only after the new content is saved
- Click Confirm to proceed
- Add the new content based on the selected category
- Click Update QR Code
Once updated, the same QR Code image will begin redirecting to the new content. There is no need to reprint the QR Code.
Note: Changing the category is a permanent action. Deleted content cannot be recovered.
