This article explains how Enterprise users can limit the collection of specific analytics parameters in Scanova to comply with internal data security policies.
Organizations with strict compliance or IT governance policies may require limitations on the type of data collected during QR Code scans. By default, Scanova provides detailed analytics to help track scan performance. However, users subscribed to the Enterprise Plan can request restrictions on specific data points collected in analytics reports.
A. Default analytics data collected
Scanova’s analytics feature tracks various data points when a Dynamic QR Code is scanned. These include:
- Time and date of scan
- Device type and operating system
- Exact GPS location (based on IP or GPS, if enabled)
- Browser and language settings
- UTM parameters (if configured by the user)
These insights assist in performance tracking and campaign analysis. However, not all organizations are permitted to collect certain types of data due to internal or external regulations.
B. Requesting restricted data collection
Users on the Enterprise Plan have the option to restrict data collection in analytics based on their organization’s privacy and security requirements.
Important points to note:
- This customization is not available via the dashboard
- Data restrictions can include parameters such as IP address, GPS location, device information, and more
- The customization must be formally requested by contacting the Customer Relations team
To submit a request:
- Write to support@scanova.io with the organization’s compliance needs
- Specify which analytics parameters must be excluded
- The Scanova team will evaluate the requirements and share a proposal for implementation

C. Exporting analytics data
Analytics reports can still be exported via the Scanova dashboard:
Analytics > Export Report
The data fields included in the export will reflect any restrictions configured under the Enterprise Plan.
